Assessment of salivary flow by measurement
This procedure is for identification of low salivary flow in patients at risk for hyposalivation and xerostomia, as well as effectiveness of pharmacological agents used to stimulate saliva production.

Assessment of salivary flow by measurement is considered a medical diagnostic procedure and is a non-covered dental service.

Medical services should be submitted as a medical claim with applicable medical Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code and diagnosis code.
