We want the best health outcomes for our members at an affordable price. One way to do that is to make it easy for members to find health care providers with track records of delivering high-quality, appropriate care and at an affordable cost.
On July 1, 2025, we will begin rating providers based on these criteria. We will use objective, third-party data combined with Regence data to assign performance ratings to individual providers. Initially, ratings will apply to primary care, pediatric care, and 17 specialties (MDs and DOs).
Provider search results will prioritize higher rated providers and include a visual indicator, accompanied by an explanation of the ratings.
Our Customer Service and Case Management teams will be able to access the ratings through their internal navigation tools so they can refer members to high performing providers when they seek care through those channels.
We are excited to bring this new functionality to our members in July. Our data shows that members who use higher performing providers experience improved outcomes and lower costs.
